Introduction

One Tower Bridge stands on the south side of Tower Bridge, opposite the Tower of London, looking out from the apartments will give you spectacular views of The Tower of London, Tower Bridge, The River Thames and many other famous icons nearby. A spirit of traditional craftsmanship with a blend of contemporary design is evident in every detail from the floor-to-ceiling glazing through to the luxury specification.

It is not only a fitting place from which to look out and admire the celebrated skyline of this great world city, it has also been designed with great respect for its surroundings and the famous monuments which make this location so outstanding.

Solution

This luxurious development offers 355 private apartments with 5-star resident facilities and is the flagship development for Berkley Homes PLC, so the shading solution had to complement the amazing view and opulent design. Enviroscreen were contracted by Berkeley Homes PLC to supply and install over 2000 blind boxes and motorised blinds which were linked and controlled by each apartment’s home automation system and hidden from view when retracted.

To create part of the interior architect’s vision, we were tasked with the challenge of designing, developing, manufacturing, installing and commissioning a bespoke blind box to blend in with aesthetics and curtain wall façade with unique features, the motorised roller blinds linked to the home automation system built into the design of the apartments to cover large floor-to-ceiling windows.

The modern and reliable Enviroscreen Sonata was the ideal roller blind for this project as the fixing brackets are small and discreet enabling the 240V motorised blinds to be fitted in a confined space; one of the most compact on the market.
